The party prepares for a super normal nothing-to-be-suspicious-of masquerade. Janus does some needlework, Rex slips into something less comfortable, Lucy explores a crawl space, and Patch cleans up.

They were playing hide and seek, and uh Lucy was it, and they all form got into their um cocoons and she couldn't find them, and she was like, Darn, these are good.

Yeah. Wait, so she was playing with caterpillars. She was playing hide and seek with caterpillars specifically. Yeah. I think I think uh I assumed with other children, but I see now that that was a hilarious assumption.

To wrap up a the story, um, once Lucy song, thanks, Chloe, cocoon. Yeah, uh, the butterflies, she decided, ooh, I'll do that too. And so then she created her own cocoon that she cocooned in. Um for how long? Probably six weeks. Yeah, okay, cool. No, long time, long time. Uh and uh nobody came in, none of the butterflies came and found her.

Spider-Sprung snare. Last session on a tip from High Priest of Heliod Georgiana, our heroes investigated the plague-struck Temple of Erebos. After burning your way through the cascading plague outside, you discovered a petrified scene containing priests of Heliod, priests of Erebos, and one of the strange fell priests seeking the box of many things. All of these guys were petrified by something. With some keen thinking, Lucy cast minor illusion on the floor, turning it uh into a reflective surface and illuminating the image of two basilisks in the rafters of the temple. Once the illusion ran out, the basilisks pounced, managing to petrify Janice before falling to the party's attacks. Exposing Janice to the petrification antidote, which was the bile from the basilisk's stomachs.

So the party not only saved Janice, but the rest of the victims of the Basilisk as well. Or at least most of them. The unfrozen fell priest identified himself as Wonder, uh, and shared that he was one of three who came here seeking the box of many things. Three who came here seeking the box, but who fell apart, not able to agree on a plan to find the box, splitting into their own strategies and not being successful because of it. Not only this, but the party discovered that Eurifon and his crew actually stole the box of many things that the Fellpriests seek over 20 years ago from the island on which the Fellpriests live.

Not only this, but the party also found that the Basilisks had magic combination lock collars on them with an unknown three-digit combination, as well as small brands with black towers, the symbol that the party recognized eventually as a symbol often associated with dire end and Europhone. Not only this, but the party also, in talking to Ruby the Rubrik, discovered that General Trioctus of the uh uh chromatic council of Plutopolis has a little bit of a tragic checkered past. One in which he was deceived into burning his own son alive in a desperate bid to end the Pan-Elsparian War. Patch Patch's thing seems way lower than anyone. From there, the party set out after their next lead, the profligate prior Hercadius. They found their way uh into a hidden speakeasy, where various ruffians and gamblers were drinking and partying like it wasn't two in the afternoon. After some strong patch gambling, some ill-advised Lucy gambling, and some classic Rex bro festing, the party eventually received a lead on prior, that after weeping openly at the bar, he was pummeled by some ruffians and kicked out. Following the trail of blood, the party found a body in a shady alley nestled between two little webby bundles. The body began to rise in front of them as the rubble of the alley revealed itself to be the camouflage of a great spider attached to the body, using the body as bait. Everyone, what did you get for initiative?

So, you all see rising from the rubble in front of you a massive beast. You see, it's got six legs on the ground, six chitinous sharp black legs plunged into the ground. The front sides of the legs seem like they're armored with like grey rubble, and it's got two massive claws near the front. Right under this body, which seems to serve as the being's head. The body has is turned upside down, and through its hollow eyes, you can see in the very back of the eyes like motion of millions of little eyes. The spider is living in the body. Sorry. As this thing rises up in front of you, it lets out an ungodly sound. It is first in the initiative order. Oh crap. It is as it rears up with its massive hooked claws, you see that it is going to spend uh its lair action and is going to shove a foot into the uh rubble next to him, and from it, two giant spiders crawl out behind him.
